Pesticides and veterinary medicines must be registered before they can be marketed in Australia.

The government agency responsible for registration of pesticides and veterinary medicines in Australia is The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA).

Pesticides and veterinary medicines are defined in the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Code Act 1994 and the Agricultural and Veterinary Chemicals Code Regulations 1995.  These are comprehensive and complex pieces of legislation comprising hundreds of pages of provisions covering almost all the aspects of control of these products.

It can be difficult to understand the particular requirements that apply to your product, but Agvet Chemical Consultancies has a broad range of experience working both within government agencies and in the private sector and can assist you in planning your product's pathway to the marketplace in Australia with a minimum of regulatory complication.
